Melinda & Trees

When are trees mentioned in this book? How are they symbolic? (Hint-Hint- p. 187)

I don't understand this either. Does this mean that the tree represent what she( melinda) would become, dead crazying down, if she doesn't let go some of her dead branches ( her secret)?

the tress are symbolic because durring the prunning of the tree, teh sliced off the dead parts of the tree. In relation to Melinda, the dead branches are her shames, feelings, her fear for Andy Beast (evans), and she wishes that theres a chain saw that would slice that part of her heart as it did for the tree.
This is not a discussion at all ._., for anyone that only reads this should prove useful.
