This blog has been created to help students at Prep Charter High School with their summer reading assignments. Students going into 10th grade must read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. Students are encouraged to use the blog as they read to help them understand the plot, characters, and larger themes of the story. While teachers will be adding questions and comments, students should also talk to each other about the book via the blog. Happy Reading!
HOW TO POST
1. Look for posts marked "Response Question." Pick a question that you want to answer.
2. Click on the word "comments" right below the question. This will take you to a new page.
3. Type your answer into the "leave your comment" box on the right.
Guidelines for posting:
Please use proper spelling and capitalization- this is the internet, but we are still educated people!
Please read other people's posts and think about what they are saying. You are welcome to agree/disagree with people, but you must still be respectful of others' ideas.
Try to include direct quotes from the novel to support your ideas.
Try to show original thoughts in your posts.

Chat room is the message board that is located on the girls bathroom where they discussed the conjured topic. To Melinda's previeous post, it showed that Not only Melinda hates Andy Evans. this makes Melinda feel as if she's not the only one out there. That she has a whole group supporting her. Ivy showed her this.
The "Chat Room" is located in the girls bathroom. On it, Melinda wrote "guys to stay away from" with the name "Andy Evans". Later on, many other girls added numerous amounts of comments saying how horrible and perverted he is. This made her feel like she wasn't alone. This comment is basically the same as what Roy had said. Ivy.
