On p. 9, Mr. Neck says to Melinda, "I knew you were trouble the first ime I saw you." He then gives her a demerit. How is this encounter typical of Melinda's relationship with Mr. Neck? Describe another situation when Mr. Neck acts in this manner.
This blog has been created to help students at Prep Charter High School with their summer reading assignments. Students going into 10th grade must read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. Students are encouraged to use the blog as they read to help them understand the plot, characters, and larger themes of the story. While teachers will be adding questions and comments, students should also talk to each other about the book via the blog. Happy Reading!
