This blog has been created to help students at Prep Charter High School with their summer reading assignments. Students going into 10th grade must read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. Students are encouraged to use the blog as they read to help them understand the plot, characters, and larger themes of the story. While teachers will be adding questions and comments, students should also talk to each other about the book via the blog. Happy Reading!
HOW TO POST
1. Look for posts marked "Response Question." Pick a question that you want to answer.
2. Click on the word "comments" right below the question. This will take you to a new page.
3. Type your answer into the "leave your comment" box on the right.
Guidelines for posting:
Please use proper spelling and capitalization- this is the internet, but we are still educated people!
Please read other people's posts and think about what they are saying. You are welcome to agree/disagree with people, but you must still be respectful of others' ideas.
Try to include direct quotes from the novel to support your ideas.
Try to show original thoughts in your posts.

Heather is Melinda's ex friend from school. She used to be one of her best friends untill the seniors had an end of the year party when Melinda called the cops because she was attact by one of the seniors. Before that heather use to treat her like her only friend, she always wanted melinda to go to her house after school and hang out with her. Melinda use to treat her the same way but at time's she didn't want to be bother with her because she just wanted some time to her self.
